today has been awesome. mum woke me up at 8am just as she was leaving the house to tell me we are gonna have turkish food tonight, which is a mega bonus, because turkish is good. then she went on to say that dad had already left for work. i could have jumped for joy at that moment, but i didn't on account of i was paralised from the eyeballs down. i didn't even hear mum open or shut the door as she was leaving because my eyeballs then became paraplegic and i was asleep again. at 9ish, i got a call from westinghouse rail asking me for my official academic record.
side note: i have been "offered" (read: handballed) a job in the IT dept of westinghouse rail systems australia to replace one of their "IT specialists" (lolocopter) and all i have to do now is pass a piss test and sign the contract, and resign from browns and then i'm officially no longer a baker of distinction. woot!
so i kinda freaked out here, because i don't think i have an official academic record, and technically i don't even think i have passed my first year of uni because i failed FIT2001, so now i'm 1 subject down. and the subject i am doing to atch up with, i'm failing in. (we had our first test the other week and i failed by half a mark. douche.) so i sent the HR lady my unofficial record, and that seems to have done the trick, they all seem happy. so i'm happy.
then after some more sleep, i continued on with my FIT2013 assignment which is due today. the first 2 questions i'd done, but on the third question, it just wasn't working for me (it was all codig javascript poo) - then i realised that i'd placed a variable in the wrong spot and there was a syntax error (seriously) on the variable code too. gosh im an idiot. so now it works. and i'll try to upload them on here... but im not sure if blogger accepts javascript. we'll find out.
... ... ...
ok it clearly did not work. i published it and my blog basically died. here are some screen shots of what my program was supposed to look like:
and there is another, which does stuff, but it is too much effort to screen shot it all. anyway, i am incredibly proud of these programs, because i did them all by myself. the only help i got was just on layout tips, but no one actually told me stuff that would go to my programs directly. so i am way proud.
after i submitted them, i slept some more, then got woken by my phone again. this time it was greg. he wanted to know if he could borrow my student card for carpooling at monash for the day. so like an hour later, jon and greg appeared on my doorstep. one could easily have mistaken them for being nice strapping young lads, as they were all dressed up in business shirts and pants. they almost looked good looking. but then they spoke, and i realised it was jon and greg. actually, hey could have been mormons. brandon flowers from the killers is a mormon. wouldn't it be cool if he rocked up on your doorstep asking you about god? i'd probably take a photo of his chin.
after that i think i slept some more. since the last bit of napping i did some myspace stalking, blogging and eating.
today has been awesome. also, my cat is EXTREMELY fet.
speaking of fet, i might go down the street to get money out for amy, and maybe go into browns for some food. i better get as much free food as possible now before i quit.
right now i'm listening to POD (crazy lecturer guy whome i have never seen, but he makes a mean podcast) about something or other. the above picture is the second course in my lunch today. i think it proves how poor i have become as a uni student who owns a fuel guzzling jeep. the above in tuna chunks in springwater with a sweet and sour marinade. aka. can of tuna with a dollop of sweet and sour sauce mashed in.
crap. i tuned out of the podcast. poo.
now, i know this is kind of a plug for microsoft, but it's for a good cause. i figure Bill Gates has enough money, and he does give it to charity, but he should give more. so i'm forcing him to give more. pity the charities aren't in my top 10 of most important charities around. but i mean, beggers cant be choosers. that really doesn't fit in this context.
ok. as it turns out, the photo is shit. i did it whilst trying to salvage the car roof, and it was a quick photo. and it doesn't show much. after we moved the car roof (hardtop) out of the way, i took a photo of the destruction our humble abode has faced in the past 3 days. not only did our roof fall down cos it rotted through due to rain and shit. but one of our trees fell down from lack of water. it was a green tree, and looked healthy, but just the drought eventually made the limbs snap. and now half of our front garden is tree. (it was a big tree) so here is an annotated photo.
Well, im in the library, and this blog is actually for my uni blog, but my silly phone can only blog to one blog, as in, there isnt a feature to let me choose which blog it posts to. I figure ill just copy and paste to the uni blog later.
Yesterday i got out of my FIT2001 lab within 30mins which was bloody awesome because i got to skip peak hour traffic. The usual 6pm finish is absolute death. We had our interview which was pretty good. Peter, our tutor, helped us out with a few issues. Im glad that it went smoothly too. I was a bit worried that our questions were a bit vague, but the interview with peter/"dirk" went really well and a lot of things were clarified. Like, i thought it would have been standard to include like an online catalog/shop, but "dirk" doesnt want one at this stage in development. YEY!!
Hello dears. Im in a lecture right now and i need to pee really bad. Jon isnt even here to squeeze me to make me want to pee more. Silly boy has gone off to be australian rogaining champion. again.
Tonight i have band rehearsal. Im not looking forward to it much, cos i didnt practice this week. Im a bit of a let down really. The songs are really fun, when it comes together it should sound awesome, especially when the cast join us. I cant wait! What should be v.amusing is polly playing a pregnant woman in the cast. Should be a hoot! Haha.
Oh man, its 20mins into the lecture and the woman is still explaining this weeks learning objectives. Mega sigh.
I momentarily forgot i had to pee, but the feeling is back now. Im trying to let out a silent fart, but i think it might be detected by smell. It feels like a stinker. Haha, i can just imagine a future employer reading over that last bit. I think when im actually going to apply for a real job, i might make my blog private. For my eyes only type of thing.
It will be interesting when i get my next phone bill and seeing how much it actually does cost to blog from my phone. I hope it isnt a lot. Its a bummer that i have to post a picture at the same time as well. My phone doesnt let me blog without a photo. I wish it did.
Im going to listen now, she is actually going over some good stuff in the lecture now. It helps to listen. Ok. Chow.
Im trying to enhance my memory, so each morning before uni i have an apple tree grassroots plus drink. It contains ginkgo biloba, which assists in memory and being normal. They are pretty expensive, but hopefully in the long run, its worth it. Also, they are MEGA yum. Especially the pomegranit and blueberry one. Mmm mm mmm!!! Ok, i have a lecture in 10mins. Its for eco, which i have to say im enjoying lots. Tomorrow i have an eco test, then straight after that i have a ebusiness assignment/test. GAY to the MAX!!!
I have decided that 4WDing is pretty damn fun. Me and jon, plus a friend of jons, ross drove over the west gate and down to geelong. We werent without problems tho. When i eventually (after many attempts) reversed into ross' driveway and parked, we could hear this hissing sound coming from jose. I originally thought it was the air con (it leaks - but its designed like that) so i turned it off, but the hissing continued. I was v.sad.
So we opened him up and found that my radiator is leaking. Oh so sad. So we filled the coolant tank up and got going. Upon reaching g-long, it was once again empty. We filled it up once more then got going again. Did a quaint little track, and got stuck, but got out of it easily. Kinda. The next day ross poured about half a small bottle of black pepper into the radiator. I wanted to go driving, so i was willing to try anything. The pepper trick worked a treat. That morning we did some sick tracks. We turned into one which jon said looked good, and (i forgot to mention, we were around lorne at this time.) It was awesome. Kudos to jon. Not long down the track, we came across a convoy of beasty 4WD's who showed us photos of the track ahead. As it turns out, one of them actually got stuck at one point and had to be pulled out. It sounded like mad fun. Ill show photos of the track once i get them off jon. There was mud, creeks, and steep steep hills with ugly ruts. So much fun. :D
After an unsuccessful afternoon, we went back to geelong to ross' folks house for dinner, then up to meredith area with this weird kid called troy. The good tracks were closed, so there wasnt much good stuff. We gave up and did laps around geelong city. Random things we did:
pretended to be cops with speed cameras
shone our high beam in these kids eyes whilst they were making out in their car
rammed the back of my car whilst driving ross' beast landcruiser
left ross and troy outside some club and jon and i drove around geelong in cars we did not own. And emma got scared because a riot van followed her for a second with its siren on
ross ran over a cat
Then the next day we went home. The end. More photos later.
happy international womens day people! what did i do to celebrate? i cowered over several toilets vomitting. all because i'm a women. gay period. today seems like such a waste. i went to uni, which i thought started at 9, but actually started at 10, which was damn good seeing as though i got to uni at 9.20 or so. i hate walking into lectures late. v.embarassing. elthough, i've now learnt that walking/running out of lectures early (to go spew my guts up) is far more embarassing. some guy got cranky at me because i had to make him move his books and notes and little desk thing. but then i said "im gonna vomit" and he moved a little quicker. i think the girl next to him overheard as well because she was pulling back from her seat to get away from me. or maybe i just had bad body odour. that's always a possibility.
on my way to uni this morning, i went via the M1 freeway. sososososo much fun. jose has never been on the freeway with me, so taking him up past 100km/h was so fun. just cruising was great. it started raining quite heavily too, so for the curvy bit of the freeway i put it into 4H (4wd) for the extra stability and just cruised. so fun. although quite intimidating with all the big trucks. they are scary sometimes, the way they just loom over you and you can feel the entire car rattle.
funniest image ever just happened, about socks (my cat) - this is an msn convo with me and amy.
alpha dog says: ooohhh socks has come to visit me Amie says: <3 alpha dog says: no he hasnt. he just came in here to escape out the window alpha dog says: HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA alpha dog says: omg. funniest thing ever alpha dog says: normally my window is left open, so he can jump in and out. but i was practicing bone the other day, so i shut it alpha dog says: and he went to jump from my bed to the window (and he normally just jumps straight through cos there is no window there) alpha dog says: but he just went SMACK into the glass. Amie says: uh oh i see whats coming Amie says: haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
hello dears, i forgot to say in my last blog, but for uni, one of my subjects (systems analysis and design) has a hurdle requirement of updating a blog weekly. nice eh? this is basically my dream subject. actually it seems like a pretty cool subject, because it's all about systems anlysis. which is pretty awesome. i'd like a career in systems analysis. i don't mind the idea of starting up my own business with a systems analysis flair. indeed. anyway, my gangsta nerd blog can be viewed here. (please don't comment on it, because my tutor and lecturer has to mark it.)
i'm at james' house right now. he's watching some ghey show on nazi sex. i wanna go play with his lil bro. but i dont know where he is. oh well. ok now im getting an awesome massage, so maybe ill just keep blogging.
ok i got distracted by myspace. poo.
in a lecture today, the lecturer started off with a bunch of faces on the lecture slides. i didn't recognise single face, so i just assumed that they were random people. like, end users of a SYSTEM or of e-business. or some crack like that. as it turns out, they weren't. they were "IT celebrities." crack? apparently they were leaders in e-business. eg. google wonder twins, yahoo peeps, amazon and ebay dudes. after she said they were IT people, i then recognised the paypal guys... only because they had a giant paypal sign behind them. the lecturer made me feel pretty dumb and clueless about worldwide IT business. there was a fuzzy photo up the top, which was of Tom Anderson and his friend. i got really excited when she said tom anderson, re:tuba. but when she mentioned "myspace tom" i almost orgasmed. an actual lecture about myspace. sortof.
ok. so i'm back at uni. as of two days ago, i was an official second year student. im in bed right now, and williams in't answering my messages. perhaps if i myspace comment him he'll reply, being the myspace whore he is.
uni is absolutely FULL of first year students. sickening. i wonder if last years second years hated me as much?
i should get going now. im driving by myself. eek. well, jon might be joining me. eek!
